International Suicide Prevention Week

International Suicide Prevention Wiki

Today marks the first day of International Suicide Prevention Week (September 8 – 14).

You don’t have to go it alone. It is not okay to force-quit.

Not but two weeks ago did I have an opportunity to reach out to a fellow coworker who was hurting. I could tell, even through their silence, that they were in pain. I didn’t tell them “Don’t kill yourself,” all I did was give them random compliments and let them know that someone cared about them.

Then just this last week, they came to tell me, “I don’t know if you could tell, but I just shut down for like 5 days. I had suicidal thoughts and telling my brother did nothing to help. Thank you for talking to me.”

You have the power to help. You have the power to change someone’s life.

The signs are there. Reach out!

If you don’t have someone to talk to, go to the wiki page and call a hotline and get the help. You are not alone. You are not a burden.
